Questions we’re asked most
How do I book a table?
Book online through our Book a Table page, or call us on +44 1494 326820. We serve Wednesday to Sunday and are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Do you need my card details to hold a booking?
Yes. For all bookings we require card details to secure your table. Nothing is taken at the time of booking.
What happens if I cancel, or don’t arrive?
Charges of £20 per person apply for no-shows, and for cancellations made less than 24 hours before your booking. Cancel more than 24 hours ahead and there is nothing to pay — so if your plans change, please tell us as early as you can.
What is the Standby List?
If you add yourself to our Standby List, this does not confirm a table in our diary — it puts you on a waiting list for the time you wanted.
Why can’t I book the Sunday time I want?
Our Sundays are extremely popular, so we recommend booking far in advance to secure your desired time. If you can’t book your ideal time, please contact our reservations team — they will do all we can to squeeze you in.
Is there a service charge?
All prices include VAT, and a discretionary 13% service charge is added to your bill.
Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Please let us know if you have any intolerances or allergies. Our menus mark dishes with (gf) gluten free, (v) vegetarian, (ve) vegan, (n) nuts and (se) sesame, and vegetarian options are available.
Are the menus on this website the ones you’ll be serving?
Our menus are seasonal and therefore subject to change. The menus published on this website are samples — the dishes on the day may differ.
Can I bring my dog?
We accept small dogs at lunch time, but only in the front bar. No dogs are allowed for dinner.
Where are you, and is there parking?
We are at No. 12 The Broadway, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP7 0HP, in the heart of Amersham Old Town. We do have on-site parking, available on a first-come-first-serve basis; access our car park via Whielden Green on Whielden Street.
Can I hire a room for a private event?
Yes. The Assembly Room, on the first floor, is our private events space and has its own bar; the Boardroom suits smaller, focused meetings and presentations. Both are equipped with high-quality AV equipment. Email info@griffinamersham.co.uk to talk through a date. You can see the spaces on our Private Events page.
Do you have a menu for larger groups?
Yes — a sharing menu for parties of 14 and above, at £70 per head. As elsewhere, prices include VAT and a discretionary 13% service charge is added to your bill.
Who do I contact about a wedding?
Our events team looks after wedding breakfasts and receptions. Email events@griffinamersham.co.uk.
What is the Members Co-Working Club?
A private members’ workspace in the heart of Old Amersham, with weekday access from 8am to 5pm, a dedicated high-speed fibre connection, early access to ticketed Griffin events and a 15% discount in The Griffin restaurant. Details and prices are on our Co-Working Club page.
How do I cancel my membership?
We do require one month’s notice to cancel your Membership.
